Poetry Writing Made Easy Even for LD, Dyslexics, ADHD, & Gifted Kids

Posted on: February 9th, 2010

Do your kids get assignments where they have to write a poem? Do they struggle with those assignments? Poetry is not always about rhyming words. Even though there are many different types of poems, poetry writing is not always the easiest thing to do, especially when you have LD, dyslexia, or ADHD. Even gifted kids can struggle with poetry writing. It doesn’t matter if you are homeschooling or in a public school, poetry writing can be difficult for anyone.

Did you know that writing poetry doesn’t have to be so-o-o hard? Again, there are many different types of poems, some types rhyme, some don’t. I’ve found one of the easiest types of poetry to teach my kids is the Haiku, specifically the Cinquain type of Haiku Poem. Learn how to use the Sentence Zone for writing poems.  The Sentence Zone game  makes poetry writing easy because you can write the poem with colors.

See how easy writing poetry can be… even for kids with LD, dyslexia, ADHD, or even gifted.
